Scooby Doo Where Are You?

"One of the most successful, original and enduring we developed.. was 'Scooby Doo, Where Are You?'. This series was released by Hanna Barbera Animation on September 13th, 1969.  The development of this cartoon was in response to parent watch group that were recorded as concerned about cartoon violence that was found in superhero-based shows of the mid-1960s.  Hanna Barbera produced this show as an alternative to cartoons perceived as violent, essentially providing children with a humorous Saturday morning program that provided adventure, mystery and spooky stories.  The production of the Scooby Doo shows in turn led to the development of the “Scooby Doo formula” that was used by Hanna-Barbera again over the next several years in multiple cartoon series.
